Oklahoma!
Oklahoma! is a timeless Rodgers & Hammerstein classic set in the early 1900s on the wide-open plains of the American West, where farmers and cowboys live, work and dream side by side. The story centres on the spirited rivalry—and blossoming romance—between Curly McLain, a charming cowboy, and Laurey Williams, an independent young farm girl who refuses to be easily won over.
As Curly and Laurey navigate their feelings amid playful teasing and simmering tension, a darker presence looms in the form of Jud Fry, the troubled farmhand whose obsession with Laurey threatens to disrupt their budding relationship. Meanwhile, the community buzzes with excitement as preparations for the annual box social bring humour, mischief and local drama to the forefront.
With its unforgettable score—including classics like “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’,” “People Will Say We’re in Love,” and the rousing title number—Oklahoma! is a joyful, heartfelt celebration of love, community and the pioneering spirit that shaped a nation.

SOS performed Oklahoma! at The Core Theatre (previously Solihull Arts complex) in 2012.
