The Show Must Go On

In 2024, the unexpected closure of The Core Theatre due to RAAC forced the cancellation of two major local productions—Solihull On Stage’s Legally Blonde and Peterbrook Players’ Fiddler on the Roof. But rather than let the season fade away, both societies came together to create something bold, uplifting and truly unforgettable.

The Show Must Go On was a one-of-a-kind collaborative concert featuring a combined ensemble of almost 50 performers from SOS and Peterbrook Players. United by a shared love of musical theatre, the cast brought to life an exciting mix of songs from Hamilton, Waitress, SIX!, Les Misérables, Dear Evan Hansen, Come From Away and many more—numbers that many of us might never have had the chance to perform under normal circumstances.

Far from being a traditional concert, this production showcased full costumes, dynamic choreography and the creative vision of a combined production team. The result was a vibrant, high-energy celebration of resilience, community and the power of theatre to bring people together—no matter the obstacles.
